Today was another good day. Ginny gave an in depth discussion about SKYPE with demonstrations and explanation. It was so interesting that I have decided to upgrade my laptop to incorporate the technology. Go Ginny, you sold me and that is not an easy thing to do, believe me. Additionally, she introduce us to more FREE ware to aid us through our assignments.
Then Ginny turned the raines over to Martha, who brought a bit of bad news about payroll delay. Martha immediately jump into gear for the business at hand. She informed us about our first staff meeting including the time, place, length and date of the session. We were given assignment which would be used as flextime. We rehearsed what we would do going into our assigned schools for the first day with comments from returning interns. Martha also indicated that from this point on we will be saving the trees, because paper will no longer be used when it came to her and our duties (email and jump drives).
We continued on our journey, where we discussed the difference between Consultant and Conflict Resolution. Role play and definitions were given to assist in what to do or not do in any given situation. We moved on to Overcoming Obstacles, here we had to develop a lesson plan trying to sway an uncooperative teacher over to the technology side of things. This was a great opportunity and most excelled with their project. There are always going to be more than none, kinks to be worked out when completing a project, especially to impress or persuade someone to your way of thinking.
What the surprise we received at the end. The introduction of the Director of the program and her side kick. The speech given was very inspiring and really motivational. However, the biggest surprised was when Martha announced that everyone made it through. To our great surprise no one was dismissed. I guess that means DOT understand people and make allowance for change. PROBATION is O-V-E-R. Now for the real work to began. It is a pleasure to have met all of you and I look forward to a rewarding and long term relationship with you all. Good Luck and see you on Tuesday @ 11:00 am
